The total number of people who have recovered from COVID-19 in the Maldives had risen to 2,693 after 23 more people recovered from the illness in the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) confirmed that in the past 24 hours, total new recoveries were at 23 which brings the total number of recoveries to 2,693. With this, the total number of active cases is now 1,719.

The agency also confirmed and additional 153 cases of COVID-19 infections in the Maldives. These include 116 Maldivians, 22 Bangladeshis, 11 Indians, 1 Indonesian, 1 Egyptian, 1 Briton and 1 Kenyan.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives is now 4,446.

There are 19 COVID-19 deaths in the country. These are four Bangladeshis and fifteen Maldivians along with a Phillipines national.
