Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) has announced that groups exceeding more than five people will not be allowed in public in the Greater Male' Area.

Speaking during a press conference by the HEOC, Health Ministry's Deputy Director General of Policy Planning and International Health Aishath Saamiya said that it is extremely important to reduce the number of contacts of each individual hence this step is being taken as a precaution.

Saamiya added that the number of contacts for those who tested positive last month was really high, stressing that the total number of contacts was 10,000. She also highlighted that the number of contacts in the office environment was also quite high.

With the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, the government has now imposed a restriction of movement in Male' area from 10:00pm till 5:00am with 9:30pm being the last call for delivery services.
