Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) has announced new safety measures to curb the spread of COVID-19, with a restriction of movement in the Greater Male' Region from 10:00pm to 5:00am

Speaking during a press conference by the HEOC, Health Ministry's Deputy Director General of Policy Planning and International Health Aishath Saamiya said that additional measures will be taken with regards to the current situation. As such, a restriction of movement order has been issued in Male' region from 10:00pm to 5:00am starting tonight.

The movement restriction applies to Male', Hulhumale' and Villimale'.

Saamiya added that while movement is to be restricted from 10:00pm onwards, the last call for all deliveries and takeaway services will be 9:30pm.

In addition to this, groups exceeding more than five people will also be banned from gathering in public.

Male' City was previously in a tight lockdown due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as well.
