A 19th patient with COVID-19 has passed away in the Maldives.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) confirmed the news in a tweet and revealed that today at 09:30am, an 80-year-old Maldivian female admitted to HMF, ICU has passed away.
This is the 19th COVID-19 death in the Maldives. Among these are thirteen Maldivians and six foreigners.
The first COVID-19 death was recorded on April 29th, who was an 83-year-old woman. With the recent spike in COVID-19 cases, the number of deaths has been slowly increasing too.
As such deaths were recorded last Saturday and Sunday as well.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives is now 4,293.
