Maldives on Sunday reported the highest single-day increase in new COVID-19 cases with 215 cases, raising the total number of cases in the country to 4,164.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) confirmed an additional 215 cases of COVID-19 infections in the Maldives. These include 149 Maldivians, 54 Bangladeshis, 7 Indians, 2 Sri Lankan’s, 2 Nepalese, and 1 Indonesian.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives is now 4,164.

They added that in the past 24 hours, total new recoveries were at 30, which brings the total number of recoveries to 2,643. With this, the total number of active cases is now 1,489.

There are 18 COVID-19 deaths in the country. These are four Bangladeshis and fourteen Maldivians along with a Phillipines national.
