A special needs woman in Hithadhoo, Addu City has been raped.

Confirming the crime, Maldives Police Service said that the rape of a 48-year-old woman who needs special care was reported today. And while no arrests have been made in connection to the crime so far, police are investigating the case.

There has been recent surge of rapes and the rape cases being reported in the Maldives.
