A lab technician at state-run Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in Male’ City has tested positive for COVID-19.

An official of the Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) has confirmed that an IGMH lab technician has tested positive to COVID-19.

HEOC added that a contact tracing process is now in progress after the results of the patient came back positive.

Earlier in the month 16 cases of COVID-19 were discovered at the hospital. This included seven employees and seven patients in addition to two helpers.
