A member of staff at the Maldives Media Council (MMC) has tested positive for COVID-19.
One Online has learned that it was yesterday that the Health Protection Agency (HPA) informed the MMA that its employee was confirmed positive.
Sources say that the person came in contact with the illness outside of office and was noted during contact tracing when a member of their family tested positive.
Two of the office’s employees are currently in home quarantine after being noted during contact tracing; both had direct contact on the last day they went to work.
The employee who was confirmed positive did not meet a member of the MMC according to sources.
MMC has been holding virtual meetings since the lock down but with some lock down restrictions being lifted, the clerical staff has returned to office.
