SriLankan Airlines have announced plans to increase the frequency of commercial operations to Maldives, and connect the country with additional destinations.
On Sunday morning, the airlines tweeted in celebration of Maldives’ 55th Independence Day, and announced that it will begin holding seven weekly flights to Maldives staring August 1. They also announced that commercial operations between Maldives and London, Paris, Frankfurt and Milan will begin immediately.
Sri Lankan Airlines was one of the first international airlines to resume operations to Maldives when it reopened its borders on July 15, after a nearly four-month lockdown.
They operate flights between Maldives and Sri Lanka, and between Maldives and destinations in Europe, Middle East and North Asia.
The airline had operated three daily flights between Male’ and Colombo prior to border closure.
