Another 200 Bangladeshi workers have been repatriated.

The workers were flown to capital Dakha on a flight of the national airline, Maldivian today. The airline has repatriated about 1,000 workers this month alone.

The government is currently working to repatriate undocumented migrant workers in the Maldives. As part of their works, over 3,000 undocumented workers have been repatriated since April.

Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail had previously stated that 95% of migrant workers in the Maldives are undocumented and this amounts up to 80,000 to 100,000 workers. He further added that the government aims to repatriate about 20,000 of these workers within the year.
