The Presidential Commission on Corruption and Asset Recovery in regard to the corruption and embezzlement during the Presidency of Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, has presented their report to the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

The announcement was made by the President, on Twitter today saying that he has begun the taking action against corruption. However, no further details on the said action was offered.

While the report has been presented to the President, the Commission has scheduled a press conference today at 4 p.m. at the President’s Office.

President Solih formed the Commission on 4 December 2018, right after being sworn into office. The resolution to form the commission said that the its purpose would be to investigate the allegations of corruption and embezzlement that were previously investigated to no justice between 1 January 2012 to 17 January 2018.
