The Maldivian Parliament has passed to appoint Aminath Ummu Kulsum (Maradhoo, Addu City) to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

Parliament Committee on Judiciary submitted to the floor to appoint either Aminath Ummu Kulsum (Maradhoo, Addu City) or Adam Mighdad (H. Rosemary, Male City) to the JSC as a member from the public.

Ummu Kulsum's name was first asked for a vote and received 67 votes amongst 72 present members.

JSC consists of the Attorney General, President of the Civil Service Commission, a member appointed by the President, a member appointed from the parliament, a member from legal attorneys, a High Court Judge and a Supreme Court Judge along with a member from the general public.
