A man in home quarantine after traveling from Male’ City to at Baa Atoll Hithaadhoo has tested positive for COVID-19.

Vice President of the Hithaadhoo Island Council, Mohamed Hassan told One Online that the 25-year-old man arrived from Male’ City on 6 July and went into home quarantine.

The man’s results were confirmed when the sample taken by the Baa Atoll Hospital yesterday came back positive today.

Councilman Hassan said that there were five people went to home quarantine with the man who tested positive, staying at the same house. However, they all tested negative.

So far 3,044 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives with 2,397 people recoveries while 617 are still in treatment for the illness.
