Speaker of Parliament, the former President of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed, has said that the Secretary of the Social Committee, the MP for Kendhikulhudhoo constituency, Ahmed Eesa is in isolation.

Starting the Parliament sitting today, Speaker Nasheed said that MP Eesa is in islolation after an employee of the Committee Secretariat staff tested positive for COVID-19.

MP Eesa has been noted as a primary contact according to the Speaker of the Parliament and advised the parliament members to always wear masks no matter the circumstances of any meetings.

After the Parliament Committee Secretariat staff was confirmed positive yesterday, all related committee meetings were cancelled and a disinfection and contact tracing were carried out at the building.
