President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Wednesday asked Tourism Minister Ali Waheed to resign from his position.
Chief Communications Strategist at the President's Office, Ibrahim Hoodh confirmed that this decision came after complaints of inappropriate workplace behavior.
The complaints were submitted to the President's Office and Gender Ministry as well.
However, Hoodh did not reveal any further details of the complaints nor their nature. However, "One" can now confirm that the accusations are of sexual misconduct in the workplace.
Ali Waheed is the first Tourism Minister of the current government and was given the position on a slot of Jumhooree Party which is part of the ruling coalition. He is also the president of JP.
