Tourism Ministry has said that 30 resorts will reopen as the Maldives welcomes tourists on July 15th.
Said resorts will also reopen on the same day. The Ministry further noted that eight resorts have already reopened and are in full service.
These include Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru and Voavah, Soneva Fushi, Lily Beach Resort, LUX Rerost, Angsana Velavaru and OBLU By Atmosphere At Helengeli Maldives.
Three additional resorts are to be reopened towards the end of the month. Most resorts are slated to be reopened between August and October, ahead of the tourism peak season in the Maldives. As such, 25 resorts will reopen in August, 28 in September and 47 in October. One resort will reopen in November, December, and January as well.
There are 10 other resorts with no reopening date set as of now.
Tourism Minister Ali Waheed had previously stated that 11 airlines have already sought permits to travel to the Maldives after it reopens the borders.
