Parliament Committee for Independent Institutes had decided to dismiss the President of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), Dr. Ali Shameem, Vice President Shaheed Mohamed along with the members Zakariiya Hussain and Ibrahim Shaheeq.

The committee decided to dismiss these members for having fired certain civil service workers. The vote for their dismissal was asked individually during the committee meeting today.

President of CSC Dr. Ali Shameem, Zakariyya Hussain, and Ibrahim Shaheeq was dismissed with the vote of seven members of the nine committee members present during the meeting. Vice President Shaheed Mohamed was dismissed with five votes.

Committee member MP Mohamed Abdulla Shafeeq had however voiced out about the dismissal of 4 members except for Fathimath Amira. As such he noted that the four members had fired civil servants even after Amira was appointed to the commission, and highlighted that she had never submitted a complaint regarding these actions to the committee.

As such the MP noted that Amira should also be dismissed along with the rest of the four members. However the committee decided against it.
