President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that India has been the biggest helper to the Maldives during the difficult times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking during a press conference held at the President's Offc=ice today, President Solih said that the Indian government has been the biggest helper in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and had thanked them for the generous aid.
India had provided assistance in terms of food, medicine and financial as well since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He also revealed that the Indian High Commission has assured that the 37 people in the Maldives who urgently need overseas medical care will be able to travel to India as well.
President Solih added that India remains as the closest country to the Maldives, and that the friendship will remain the same.
