President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that testing for COVID-19 will begin in Kulhudhuffushi City next week.
Speaking during a press conference at the President's Office today, President Solih noted that with the hard work of many, the Maldives is ready to treat COVID-19 patients.
As such he noted that upto 1,000 tests for COVID-19 can be conducted daily and that testing has now begun in Addu City as well. He further added that Kulhudhuffushi City is ready to begin testing in the coming week.
Addu City and Kulhudhuffushi City are the two most populous cities in the Maldives apart from capital, Male' City.
While there are 2,217 total cases of COVID-19 in the Maldives, 1,813 of the have recovered with 8 deaths being reported.
