An employee who works at the fish factory of Ensis Fisheries has tested positive to COVID-19.
Managing Director of Ensis, Mohamed Waseem has confirmed the news.
Waseem noted that the necessary safety measures due to this are now being taken as advised by the Health Protection Agency (HPA).
He did not disclose any further details regarding this.
Several sources claim that the patient who tested positive is a woman who is working temporarily at the factory. She was found to be positive today. Contact tracing and disinfection of the premises are now ongoing.
So far 2,150 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the Maldives with 1,769 of them having recovered.
