MIFCO has revealed that sales of their canned tuna were at a record high during this year's Ramadan.

A statement issued by the company on Monday noted that they had shared various new experiences during the lockdown in the greater Male' region due to the spread of COVID-19 in the Maldives. As such, they had noted that their operating manual carefully details the procedure to keep their operations up and running since they are an international business.

While products like canned food are always at a high demand during the month of Ramadan, the revealed that such products had been prepared with further planning this year as most of them were supplied to various parts of the country before the start of Ramadan.

They added that safety measures are being taken into consideration as their operations resume to normal. This includes the disinfection of goods transported between sites and ensuring that their workers from different sites do not come into contact with each other during their work. In addition to this, all employees are subjected to mandatory temperature screenings, and hand wash stations hare more readily available now.

They further noted that the company has been familiarized with working under emergency situations to provide the best service for their customers.
