Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed has stated that the lockdown restrictions might be reinstated once again and that everyone should be prepared for such an event.
Nasheed's comments came during a meeting of MDP Youth Wing held tonight via Zoom.
He noted that no one can guess what will happen tomorrow in terms of COVID-19 hence added that it is highly likely that lockdown restrictions are reinstated in the event of a second phase.
While Nasheed hinted at restrictions reimposing due to an unprecedented event, the lockdown that was imposed across the country over the community spread of COVID-19 is yet to be lifted. However, the HPA has been gradually easing restrictions.
As per HPA, the second phase of easing lockdown will begin after reviewing the first phase. Doctors had previously said that if the number of new cases sees a surge during phase one, a full lockdown will once again be imposed.
