Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has decided to hold a special virtual event to reopen Maldivian tourism.

A statement issued by the MMPRC today said that well-wishers around the world alongside the Maldivian tourism industry will be taking part in the Facebook Live event “Maldives: The Sun Will Shine Again” at 8 p.m. local time tonight.

“We hope to convey our love and hope through this event to show future travelers that the Maldives awaits with arms wide open.” The MMPRC statement said.

The event hosted by the MMPRC in association with the Ministry of Tourism, Public Service Media (PSM), Orca Media Group and Mondhu Productions are set to feature appearances by international figures and performances by local artists.

A special a quiz will also be held throughout the event offering 30 prizes from resorts and guest houses to the lucky winners for a free holiday opportunity in Maldives.
