Maldives on Saturday revealed that only 18 new cases of COVID-19 had been recorded in the country during the past 24 hours.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 13 locals and three Bangladeshi nationals along with a Sri Lankan national and a Nepalese national had tested positive for the illness.

The number of cases in the country has dropped in the past four days with 12 cases reported on Tuesday, nine on Wednesday, 22 people on Thursday and 11 on Friday.

Meanwhile, another 46 people have recovered from COVID-19 raising the total recoveries in the country to 763.

So far, eight people have died due to COVID-19 in the Maldives; four Bangladeshi nationals and four elderly Maldivians.
