Maldives on Monday reported 56 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 1,829.
Speaking at the NEOC press conference, Spokesperson, Mohamed Mabrook Abdul Aziz said that from 6 p.m. yesterday to 6 p.m. today, 979 results have come in from three laboratories and 56 samples from those have tested positive for the illness. They consist of 24 Maldivians and 29 foreigners.
He said that most of the cases are close to other clusters but one of the locals are an independent case. And from the 29 foreigners who were confirmed positive, 25 are related to identified clusters while four are independent cases not connected to any known clusters.
