The total number of cases in the Maldives rose to 1,733 on Sunday as the country announced 101 new cases.
Speaking at the NEOC press conference, Spokesperson, Mohamed Mabrook Abdul Aziz said that the 101 people who tested positive between 12 a.m. last night to 6 p.m.
Epidemiologist with the Health Protection Agency (HPA), Dr. Ibrahim Afzal said that the people who tested positive today consists of 72 Bangladeshi nationals, 21 Indian nationals and eight Maldivians. He said that 79 people of those are of the same cluster and two independent cases.
Meanwhile, 52 more people have recovered from the illness today raising the total recoveries in the country to 453.
