Maldives Police Service on Thursday revealed that residents of Villimale' can travel to Male' City for shopping.

Speaking at the joint press conference by the Male’ City Council and the Maldives Police Service, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ismail Naveen said that as some of the lock down restrictions are being lifted, residents of Vilimale’ can visit the mainland for the purpose of shopping.

The government has decided to lift restrictions of the lock down in separate phases with the first phase lasting two weeks.

Starting today, some restricts are being lifted including allowing up to three people to be outside the house per house hold and taxi service resuming with disinfection after every fare to follow the regulations set by the Health Protection Agency (HPA).
