Pediatrician at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), Dr. Ahmed Faisal, has said that schools are currently closed as a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and so it is important to teach students how to be protected from the illness in the classes being taught online.
Dr. Faisal said that prevented measures need to be in exercise at home to the point it is in their bones and the schools need to make arrangements as well.
He said that the schools need to have a list of high-risk students such as those with Thalassemia, Asthma, Diabetics and congenital heart defects that children are born with. These students need to be identified and given a special attention to teach preventive measures.
Dr. Faisal said that each student must have enough cotton masks before the school opens and need to be taught how to wear them, check them and practice not to touch their faces. He also emphasized that schools need enough cleaning staff and equipment and arrange hand washing facilities and raised the concern if there would be enough sanitizers available.
