The total number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives has risen to 1,395 with the addition of 24 new cases today.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) noted that these included 18 Bangladeshis, 4 Maldivians, and 2 Indians.

While 144 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the Maldives, the country has reported four deaths related to the virus. These include three senior Maldivian citizens and one Bangladeshi.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had recently revealed that the lockdown in Male' region will be gradually eased, with the first thing being allowing people to slowly come out of their houses. General businesses will also be re-opened during the first phase.
