Three hundred and fifty Bangladeshi nationals who were living in the Maldives undocumented have been transferred back to Bangladesh.
They were transferred back on two flights of the national airline, Maldivian. The first flight carried 198 passengers while the second flight carried 152 passengers.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed that they were transferred under a special program run by the Foreign Ministry, Economic Ministry and several other related agencies.
With this, the total number of undocumented migrants that have been transferred back to Bangladesh now stands at 1,190. Maldivian had operated two more flights to Bangladesh yesterday as well, and had transferred 352 migrants.
