Health Minister Abdulla Ameen has revealed that the 80-year-old COVID-19 patient from Noonu Atoll Manadhoo has made a full recovery.

In an interview given to state media PSM, Minister Ameen noted that progress have been made in their fight against the Coronavirus. He added that while many are now recovering, the inclusion of elderly patients among those who recover is a great satisfaction.

He revealed that the patient was treated at IGMH and that the latest test results for the patient have returned as negative.

A total of 10 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Manadhoo so far. While the first patient has now recovered, Health Protection Agency (HPA) is investigating how the virus had travelled to the island.
