Health Minister, Abdulla Ameen has taken part in a virtual briefing of the World Health Assembly.
Yesterday’s briefing was part of an annual briefing organized by the Male’ Office of the World Health Organizatio (WHO) before the Maldivian delegation departs to Geneva, Switzerland, to take part in the World Health Assembly.
This year, 18 delegates will be representing Maldives at the World Health Assembly to hold discussions and address the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking at the briefing yesterday, the Country Representative of WHO to the Maldives, Dr. Arvind Mathur said that this year’s World Health Assembly is the first virtual assembly in the history of WHO and so a large number of representatives can take part in the Assembly.
He noted that the Maldivian delegation of 18 members is the largest delegation from the Maldives to take part in the World Health Assembly.
