An additional 200 Bangladeshi workers are to be transferred back tomorrow on a Maldivian flight.

Speaking during a press conference at the National Emergency Operation Center, Spokesperson Mabrouk Azeez confirmed that another flight has been arranged to transfer the Bangladeshi workers back. He noted that it is a Maldivian flight and that 200 people will be taken back.

He further noted that two flights ahve already operated to transfer back Bangladeshi workers and that about 15 were unable to department due to issues in their documentation.

Another 67 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants were transferred back home today as well. They were transferred back in a military aircraft of Bangladesh, which landed in the Maldives yesterday with cargo.

A total of 353 Bangladeshi nationals were also transferred back home yesterday. All of them were illegal immigrants as well. They were transferred back on a flight chartered by the Maldivian government.
