The island of Hinmafushi in Kaafu Atoll has been put under a state of monitoring after a group of people tests positive for COVID-19 at the drug rehabilitation on the island.

President of the Hinmafushi Island Council, Shan Ibrahim told One Online that the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has informed the Island Council that three people have tested positive for the illness at the drug rehabilitation center.

Sources say that the people who tested positive are two men and a woman.

Hinmafushi Rehabilitation Center is an open facility where people who seek treatment can come and go as they want. HPA and other relevant authorities are working to on a contact tracing to identify the source.

The rehabilitation center is a facility where a number of people seek treatment from. It is a facility where 170 people can be treated at the same time.
