N-95 masks can be used more than once: Dr. Afzal

Dr. Ibrahim Afzal has stated that N-95 masks can be used more than once.

Speaking at the National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC) press conference tonight, Dr. Afzal said that N-95 masks are being used by health workers under SOPs prepared under the guidelines of the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

He said that it is a reusable mask for a certain extent before discarding under the set guidelines.

Dr. Afzal has made comments on the N-95 mask after some people have raised the question whether the re-use of the mask at the hospitals are a health risk.

A shipment of 20,000 N-95 masks have been imported this month and a large portion of the masks imported to the country are being used by the health sector according to the government.
