The 14-day lockdown announced in Addu City yesterday has since been lifted with the city resuming back normal life.
Health Protection Agency (HPA) noted that even though the lockdown was announced yesterday, there were no circumstances to further continue the quarantine period. HPA had also informed Addu City Council of the lifting of lockdown.
The task force in Addu City however informed that regardless of the lockdown lifting, the city will still be under the same status as pre-lockdown where travel between different towns is still not allowed. If you wish to travel you will need to obtain a permit.
A lockdown in Addu City was announced after a patient transferred to IGMH tested positive for COVID-19. The patient however had tested negative later, prompting the lockdown to be lifted.
