Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has said that there are five people who tested positive for COVID-19 being treated at the Tree Top Hospital in Hulhumalé.
Under the agreement between the government and the board of the Tree Top, the hospital has been given for government use during the COVID-19 pandemic for three months.
Speaking at the press conference today to present more information on the situation, the Medical Director of IGMH, Dr. Ali Nazeem said that the patients at Tree Top Hospital are those that require further treatment after being tested for COVID-19 at IGMH.
Dr. Nazeem said that the patients are transferred based on their condition and the advisory from the Clinic Management Advisory Committee that consists of ten people which includes five from Critical Care Treatment and consultants of Cardiology, Nephrology, Laboratory, Radiology and Psychiatry.
It was said that there are two types of treatment s for COVID-19 patients, community based and hospitalization treatment. Community based treatments are provided through facilities such as those at Hulhulé Island Facility and Farukolhi Facility.
