A pregnant woman who was taken to IGMH has tested positive for COVID-19.

"One" has learnt that the woman is among the 44 new cases of COVID-19 reported today.

As per the information released till now, this is the third pregnant woman who has tested positive to COVID-19. Previously a woman in Male' City and in Sh. Narudhoo had tested positive as well.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) and IGMH had previously revealed that patients who are admitted at the hospital will first be tested for COVID-19. However no official source has confirmed whether the woman was tested for having covid like symptoms or not.

Reports claim that the woman has since been shifted to Tree Top Hospital which is now being utilised as a treatment center for COVID-19.

While over 600 cases of COVID-19 have now been reported in the Maldives, 20 of them have recovered.
