Dr. Afzal Ibrahim has revealed that 66 contacts of the Bangladeshi patient who died has already been identified.
Speaking at the National Emergency Operations (NEOC) press conference, Dr. Afzal said that it is possible that the number of people who came in contact would increase as the contact tracing is still ongoing.
Dr. Afzal said that six people are admitted at DH11 at Dharumavantha Hospital including two elderly men of the ages 70 and 88 are on ventilators.
He said that there is also another 80-year-old man on oxygen while the remainig two men and the woman are stable.
Today, 22 people have tested positive raising the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 273 while the country saw the second death related to the illness.
