A second person has died in the Maldives with complications due to COVID-19.
One Online has confirmed that the second person passed away due to COVID-19 in the Maldives is a Bangladeshi national who started treatment in IGMH last night due to poor health as announced by the Health Protection Agency (HPA).
Sources have said that the person was transferred to Dharumavantha Hospital early this morning after his condition depleted and passed away during treatment at the hospital.
The first confirmed death related to COVID-19 was an 83-year-old woman who passed away on 30 April 2020 and was confirmed for the illness postmortem.
Health experts have said that the COVID situation in the Maldives is going to get worse with a high infection and mortality rate.
