Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced five more cases of COVID-19 today, bringing total cases to 519 in the country.
HPA noted that among these five cases, four were Maldivians with a Sri Lankan.
With this the total number of new cases in the past 24 hours is now 38. This includes 26 Maldivians, 7 Bangladeshis, 3 Indians and 1 Nepali and 1 Sri Lankan.
Bangladesh nationals still remain as the most number of infected in the Maldives with 265 of cases being Bangladesh nationals and 178 being Maldivians.
Of 519 cases reported in the Maldives, 17 have recovered so far with the death of an 83 year old woman marking the first COVID-19 death in the country.
