A social and psychiatric hotline has been established in the Maldives by the Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC).

The organization requests the public to call the hotline 1425 for social and psychological support during emergency situations. The hotline service will be available from Saturday to Thursday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.

While the COVID-19 situation in the Maldives has gone to a community spread, many has raised their concerns on social media saying that being in lock down for a long time would have an impact on mental health. And the number of people who needs assistance during this situation also keeps increasing.
