With the addition of 23 new COVID-19 cases today, the total number of cases in the Maldives have spiked to 214.

Speaking during a press conference at the National Emergency Operation Center, Dr Ibrahim Afzal confirmed that 23 cases had tested positive at the time of the press conference.

Earlier in the day, 50 cases had already been announced and with the addition of the 23 new cases Maldives marks the highest single day increase with a total of 73 cases being announced in one day. With this, the total number of confirmed cases in the Maldives have climbed up to 214 cases.

So far 17 of all cases have recovered.
