Spokesperson of the National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC), Mohamed Mabrook Abdul Aziz has said that the Ministry of Economic Development and the Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) are going to provide a joint assistance in shipping cargo to the islands.

Speaking during a press conference at the NEOC today, Mabrook noted that STO had delivered cargo to variou splaces to be sent out to shops in Male' area as well as across the nation. As such, Mabrook noted that STO had revealed that they had completed 201 orders yesterday. These include 2,450 rice sacks to shops in Male', 1,289 sacks of Flour as well as 949 sacks of Sugar. He also added that deliveries to 38 boats departing to various parts of the country were also completed yesterday.

He also said that MPL and the Economic Ministry is working together to provide joint assistance to shipping cargo across the country. As such faster routes to the islands are being facilitated through ICP created by STO and MPL.

Mabrook highlighted that STO has been working to complete deliveries for the same today as well.
