Dr Ibrahim Afzal has stated that the number of COVID-19 cases in the Maldives is expected to increase.
Speaking during a press conference at the NEOC, Dr Afzal noted that the number of cases have been increasing since last Thursday.
As such he noted that on Thursday three cases were identified while four more on Friday, six on Saturday, nine on Sunday and 17 on Monday and Tuesday. He said that the situation will only become better after a peak high.
He further noted that the days ahead will be rather difficult and appealed all to physical distance as much as possible.
With the new 17 cases, total number of cases in the Maldives have now reached 83.
