A flight of Qatar Airways has been scheduled at Velana International Airport tomorrow at 3 p.m. for tourists and expatriate workers in the Maldives to return to their home countries.

Ministry of Tourism Affairs issued a statement saying that all passengers with confirmed tickets to fly on QR675 are to provide details to the Ministry before 12 a.m. on 20 April as per the Ministry’s Circular no. 88-B/88/2020/27 dated 19 April 2020.

Vehicles of the Maldives Police Service are set to escort the confirmed passengers to the designated location at Velana International.

The Ministry have requested that all resorts, guesthouses and Island Councils to cooperate with the Tourism Ministry, Foreign Ministry and the Maldives Police Service to extend all necessary assistance to the passengers.

As the COVID-19 situation escalates in the Maldives, the Tourism Ministry is working to return all tourists in the country back to their home countries as soon as possible.
