Haa Alifu Uligan Island Council has said that the person who was confirmed for COVID-19 is going to be transferred to the Isolation Facility via seaplane today.

Talking to One Online, Uligan Island Council, Ahmed Muaz Mohamed said that a seaplane is on its way to the island to make the transfer. And the person will be leaving the island for the Isolation Facility after 12 p.m. today.

Councilor Muaz said that the person had been in self isolation since arriving at the island. However, the person had contact with a number of people on the vessel and the dinghy he arrived at the island on. And so, efforts are underway to identify the people.

The person who tested positive for COVID-19 at Uligan yesterday is the first person to be confirmed for the illness in the atolls.
