Maldives Police Service has said that those who violate the lockdown will not be advise and that they will be fined with legal action being pursued against them.
Speaking during a press conference at the NEOC, Assistant Commissioner of Police Abdulla Fairoosh stated that they will not be advising anyone out on the streets and added that further legal action will be pursued against them apart from fines.
Fines imposed on such people will be MVR 1,000 according to the ACP.
Yesterday alone Police had stopped 90 people while the number stood at 70 the previous day. So far 39 people have been fined.
Maldives now has a total of 52 confirmed cases. 31 of these cases originate from Male' City and one from Haa Alif atoll Uligan.
