Haa Alifu Atoll Uligan has been brought to a monitoring status after a person suspected to have COVID-19 was found on the island.
Talking to One Online, the President of the Uligan Island President, Ahmed Muaz Mohamed confirmed that the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has put the island under monitoring.
And so, the island was put under lock down after symptoms of the illness surface on a person who travelled to the island from Male’ City before the lock down. The person is now in home-isolation according to Councilor Muaz.
He said that once the orders of the HPA was received, the island’s public have been banned from going out on the streets along with congregational prayers.
Muaz said that the Council is taking every measure to ensure the safety of the people of Uligan and so in cooperation with the Help Desk established at the island, the stores on the island are going to be delivering goods to the houses.
HPA has ordered those who travelled out of Male’ City to self-isolate for 14 days.
