A Bangladeshi national has tested positive for Covid-19 in Male' City, bringing the total number of positive cases in the city to 12.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) confirmed that samples taken from a Bangladeshi national who was a Direct Contact of the tenth case has tested positive. The tenth case (Case 30) happens to be a direct contact of the seventh case (Case 27).

This is the 12th person to become positive for Covid-19 in Male’ City

While the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Maldivian capital has gone up to 12, the total number of people who tested positive in the Maldives is now 32 and 16 of them have recovered. And two people were confirmed positive after they left the country and there are 13 locals and one foreigner currently in treatment.

The first COVID-19 case in Male’ City was confirmed on Wednesday morning followed by a 24 hour lock down which has no extended to 14 days as the
